Instructions for authors
The journal „Miškininkystė” publishes original scientific papers, review papers and short reports on forestry, forest ecology, forest genetics, gene conservation, and tree breeding, reforestation and afforestation, forest typology, forest soil science and hydrology, forest economy, forest inventory and management, forest health and protection, phytopatology, entomology, game management, etc.

Editorial board do not accept the studies that previously were published or submitted elsewhere. If the material of the paper is published, authors must notify the Editors and to provide printed copy.

All papers are reviewed by at least two reviewers. Reviewers can stay anonymous. Editorial Board does the final decision on the acceptance for publication.

Manuscript preparation
Manuscripts should be in Lithuanian, English and Russian. The manuscript should not exceed 24 A4-size paper pages. The entire manuscript should be 1.5 spaced, leaving 3.0-cm margin at the left, 2.0-cm margin at the right, 2.5 cm on top and bottom. Submitted papers should be prepared with a font size 12 pt for the word-processed manuscripts. Number all pages consecutively in the bottom right-hand corner. The approximate position of the tables and figures should be indicated in the left-hand margin. Scientific names must be italized.

Manuscripts should be structured in appropriate sections:

  • Title: should be concise and informative (max. 120 characters);
  • Author(s)name(s) and addresses of institutions;
  • Summary in English / in Lithuanian / in Russian: should be concise (maximum 200-350 words). The summary should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. Provide a maximum of 6 keywords;
  • Introduction: state the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background. The maximum permitted length is 1-2 pages;
  • Material and methods: should be described in details;
  • Results: should be clear and concise. Refer to the figures and tables as Figure and Table. No discussion of the results is permitted in this part of the paper;
  • Discussion: should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. Divide your manuscript into clearly defined sections. All the references cited in the text should indicate the author's name followed by the year of publication in brackets. For more than two authors, the first author's name should be followed by 'et al'. If several references are cited together, they are arranged chronologically. If two or more documents have the same author and year, they are distinguished by letters a, b, etc.
  • Conclusions: should be concisely written; provide a maximum of 3-7 conclusions;
  • Short acknowledgements: list here those individuals who provided help during the research;
  • References: do not number references. List all references cited at the end of paper alphabetically according to the first author. The non-English references (Polish, Russian, etc.) must be translated into English. Directly after a non-English title, insert the English translation in angle brackets [ ]. The notation (in Russian) or (in Russian with English abstract) should be added;
  • Tables and captions;
  • Figures and legends
The submitted manuscript should be send to miškininkyste@mi.lt or i.varnagiryte@mi.lt. The manuscript should be accompanied by a cover letter from the author who will be responsible for correspondence regarding the manuscript. The letter should contain a statement that the manuscript has been seen and approved by all authors; it has not been published elsewhere.
